Clippers Lose to Sharks, 6-3
|
The Miami Sharks topped the Calgary Clippers, 6-3, in Union League action at Revolution Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Miami pitcher Jett Helms. Helms went 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-8. The second-place Sharks have a record of 43-45.
Coy Young, who finished 5th in the UL in on-base percentage with .394 in 2062, came through for Miami with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the second. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Young said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
