3500 Hits for Sarachaga
The Bristol 12-9 loss to Cleveland wasn't all bad. Something good came out it, at least for Daniel Sarachaga. As a consolation prize he got the 3500th hit of his career. The veteran Owls right fielder went 2-for-4 in the game and added his name to the coveted 3500-hit club. He was given a five-minute ovation by the crowd, which included his wife and family and quite a few former Owls teammates.

"I could have scripted it better," Sarachaga commented to the press after the game, "a win would have made it a lot more enjoyable. But what the hey... hit #3500 ain't so bad."

During his career Sarachaga has played in 3169 games, batted .291 with 612 home runs and 3501 base hits.
